Video #1: Pulling Your Free Credit Report

Annualcreditreport.com is the official site to help consumers to obtain their free credit report. Individuals may view their credit report once a year for free from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. Checking your credit report should be done at least annually to ensure there are no fraudulent accounts or charges. By monitoring and reviewing your credit report you are joining the fight against identity theft. If you notice fraudulent charges or accounts on your credit report you must notify the credit bureaus immediately to place a fraud alert on your account. In doing so you will prevent further fraudulent charges and harm to your name and credit.

Identity Theft is becoming more and more common in today's society. To help prevent identity theft there are many best practices that one can do. These include but are not limited to: reviewing your credit report annually, shredding all documents with personal information, keeping your social security number and any pin numbers at home, and being cautious to inquiries for personal information. Video #4: Say Goodbye to Fraudulent Telemarketing

Telemarketing can be both annoying and costly. However, there are a few things you can do to help protect yourself. These include learning to recognize the signs of telemarketing fraud, reporting scams or potential scammers to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and by registering your phone number on the National "Do Not Call" Registry. To register your number on the National "Do Not Call" Registry, please follow this link: www.donotcall.gov, or call toll free at 1-888-382-1222 from the number you wish to register.
